This nation is better than the radical reactionaries who control the Republican Party and who have gained control of the White House and the Congress and who threaten to control the Judiciary.  The Democrats do not offer much better -- we Democrats have not had a creative idea since the New Deal.  Both parties are under the control of their most radical zealots.  No one can run as a Republican candidate without the blessing of Pat Robertson, Grover Norquist, and a host of other radical nuts.  No one can be a Democrat candidate without the blessing of Jesse Jackson, NOW, and other Democrat zealots.

It's time for those of us in the center to stop the nonsense, but, to do so, we must have a program -- we need ideas that not only will solve the problems we now face, but that will set the stage for this nation to grow into the future as we have in the past.

The purpose of this page is to provide links to articles and sites where you will find serious proposals, not 15-second sound bites, not feel-good phrases, but real proposals to solve real problems.  For too long we have been governed by sound bite.  It's now time to stop, read, listen, discuss, and think -- and you can't do that in a sound bite or in a slick 30-second commercial.

Books with ideas for the future

• The Radical Center.   This bold book proposes to take American politics in a totally new direction -- away from our "rigid two-party cartel" of Republicans and Democrats and toward a centrism that is more in line with our traditions.  The authors argue convincingly that "Our nation's politics are dominated by two feuding dinosaurs that have outlived the world in which they evolved."
